Diversified Technique in West Knoxville
At Volunteer Chiropractic, one of the many adjustment styles we use is referred to as Diversified, which is among the most popular chiropractic techniques. The method includes the main parts of Gonstead, Activator®, and motion palpation. As a hands-on approach, Diversified allows us to manually adjust your spinal bones into their correct position.
Conditions That Can Be Addressed
Diversified can help alleviate the following:
What to Expect
First, an analysis of your spine is performed, which can involve a review of your case history, an orthopedic evaluation, a neurologic screen, and a movement evaluation. Dr. Dan may also recommend X-rays.
Subsequent visits may include motion palpation, with Dr. Dan feeling the spinal joints move as you turn and bend. Or, a leg check may be performed to uncover an imbalance in the neck or lower spine, revealing the appearance of a short leg.
When misaligned spinal bones are identified, a specific manual thrust is administered. The direction, speed, depth, and angle used are the result of years of experience, practice and thorough understanding of spinal mechanics.
The energy delivered during the thrust may produce a slight “popping” sound from the shifting of gas and fluids in the joint, like the pressure released from a bottle of champagne. There’s no need to be anxious or frightened about this—most patients find Diversified adjustments to be relaxing and relieving!
